About the event
Emmanuelle Courreges was born and raised in western Africa where she lived for twenty years. She has contributed to magazines including Elle, Marie-Claire, l'Express Styles, and Vogue Italia. She also founded LAGO54, a platform that supports and promotes contemporary African fashion designers in France. Her book, ‘Africa: The Fashion Continent’ celebrates a creative, effervescent generation of Africans who by breaking the rules and rewriting the narrative of the African continent, are inventing a new history of fashion that is now resonating across the globe.
Our Book Conversations are designed to discuss and examine significant fashion literature that focus  on the African fashion climate. They are also intended to contribute to existing fashion knowledge that  would be relevant to students, researchers, and academics.
