Misa Hylton - Pioneers Who Have Shaped America's Fashion Industry

Misa Hylton is an American stylist, designer, and image architect known for her signature style influences on American hip-hop and pop music in the 1990s. Hylton is widely known for developing the icon-worthy styles of the likes of Missy Elliott, Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim and Mary J. Blige. Hylton was always a pusher of boundaries - daring her clients to go beyond their comfort zone and is largely responsible for the incorporation of Black American style sensibilities into the mainstream.

Hylton was known for her tendency toward the outrageous, frequently collaborating with Dapper Dan, as a way to overcome the inaccessibility of luxury fashion brand samples for music videos and photoshoots, to create lasting, memorable visuals within the hip-hop music scene.
