About the event

CIAFE in collaboration with N. Dowuona & Company, presents the Fashion Law Webinar. This collaboration aims to educate fashion entrepreneurs on legislation, policies, and fashion laws. The webinar is a free event and will provide legal education and address issues affecting the fashion industry and fashion entrepreneurs in Ghana. There will be a Q&A session to advise fashion entrepreneurs on real-life legal challenges they face while running their fashion businesses.

The programme will touch on these five core areas:

  • Doing business in Ghana
  • Doing business online in Ghana
  • Intellectual Property
  • Employment law
  • Data Protection

Introducing the speakers for the webinar:

Kwasi Okrah

Kwasi is a lawyer and pupil at N. Dowuona & Company (ND&C). He is a member of the Launchpad team, a non-profit initiative targeted at providing legal education and resources to growing entrepreneurs. Kwasi has provided advice within the corporate and commercial, banking and finance, energy, maritime, mining and governance sectors. He is admitted to practice law in Ghana. He will facilitate the session on Doing business in Ghana.

Afua Asiamah-Adjei

Afua is a lawyer and pupil at ND&C. She is a member of the Launchpad team, a non-profit initiative targeted at providing legal education and resources to growing entrepreneurs. Afua has provided advice within the corporate and commercial, mergers and acquisitions, governance, dispute resolution, labour and employment and intellectual property sectors. She is admitted to practice law in California, Washington, D.C., and Ghana. She will facilitate the session on Doing business online in Ghana.

Kathleen Botchway

Kathleen is a lawyer and pupil at ND&C. She is a coordinator of the Launchpad team, a non-profit initiative targeted at providing legal education and resources to growing entrepreneurs. Kathleen has provided advice within corporate and commercial, property and construction, energy and natural resources and dispute resolution sectors. She is admitted to practice law in Ghana. She will facilitate the session on Intellectual Property.

Sennetta Dzamefe

Sennetta is a lawyer and pupil at N. Dowuona & Company. She is a member of the Launchpad team, a non- profit initiative targeted at providing legal education and resources to growing entrepreneurs. Senetta has provided advice within the corporate and commercial, intellectual property, hospitality, technology, tax, and dispute resolution sectors. She is admitted to practice law in Ghana. She will facilitate the session on Employment Law.

Safo Akonnor

Safo is a lawyer and pupil at ND&C. He is a member of the Launchpad team, a non-profit initiative targeted at providing legal education and resources to growing entrepreneurs. Safo has provided advice within the corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, labour and employment sector. He is admitted to practice law in Ghana and England and Wales. He will facilitate the session on Data Protection.
