Frederica Brooksworth is a British-Ghanaian Academic, Researcher and Business Strategist. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Council for International African Fashion Education (CIAFE). The organisation’s headquarters are located in London and with offices in Accra and New York.
Brooksworth has taught at numerous universities and is a lecturer at the London College of Fashion, Conde Nast College of Fashion and Design. She is a Board Member at BlueCrest University College. Brooksworth has also worked with organisations such as the Business of Fashion, FashMash and Style House Files developing educational programmes and resources.
Brooksworth is the author of the forthcoming book ‘Fashion Marketing in Emerging Economies’ due to be published in Spring 2022 by Palgrave Macmillan.
She is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education with a focus on closing the knowledge and skills gap through EdTech to innovate the African Fashion Education System. Brooksworth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing and a Masters of Arts in Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation obtained from the London College of Fashion. In addition to this, Brooksworth has obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning. She also often undertakes Executive Education courses at Saïd Business School at Oxford University. Brooksworth is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Coy Griffin is a Fashion Technologist and Analyst, Educator, Author and TedX speaker. She is the Operations Director the Council for International African Fashion Education (CIAFE) and founder of Your Own Creativity. The organisation’s headquarters are located in London and offices in Accra and New York.
Griffin is a guest lecturer specialising in topics related to fashion analytics, technology and operations with experience teaching at Virginia State University, the London College of Fashion. She has also worked with NIKE and Black Girls Code. Griffin works with fashion organisations to integrate the latest technological innovations with the creative world. She has been featured in media outlets such as Blavity and New York Fashion Week and often participates in educational and interactive events in Accra, Ghana.
Griffin is the author of ‘Leveraging Tech’ and contributing author of the forthcoming book ‘Fashion Marketing in Emerging Economies’ due to be published in Spring 2022 by Palgrave Macmillan. Griffin has previously worked within analytics at IBM, Johnson & Johnson, and a variety of Fashion Technology startups. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics obtained from Clarkson University, and presented a Fashion Technology TedX speech at her alma mater.
Griffin’s mission is to promote the education of fashion technology and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) opportunities in underserved and underrepresented communities. Her company, Your Own Creativity (YOC) consults fashion brands on the right way to use technology and analytics to grow their business.
