Born and raised in Ghana, Vanessa moved to Montreal in 2003 and enrolled at the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University), where she majored in a Bachelor of Commerce: Finance Concentration. After graduation, Vanessa transitioned into the retail and fashion industry, her true passion, despite persistent advice to pursue a career in commercial banking. Initially hired as a Retail Planning Analyst at Reitmans Canada Ltd, she quickly found her niche within the industry: Buying/Merchandising/Product Management. In 2010, she partnered with Aisha Ayensu (Founder and Creative Director) of Christie Brown Limited, to head their Merchandising and Operations division. Her involvement at Christie Brown is truly a balancing act as the brand strategically scales up and continues to gain global relevance and exposure both regionally and globally.
